Edenton-Chowan Airport Industrial Park

The Edenton-Chowan Airport Industrial Park contains 28 property sites of which 16 are available for purchase and development with eight (8) lots shovel-ready.  Infrastructure improvements that are in place include water, sewer, electrical and paved roads. The Edenton-Chowan Industrial Park is adjacent to the Northeastern Regional Airport that features a 6,000 ft. by 100 ft. paved runway that can easily provide takeoff and landing runway to accommodate larger aircraft the size of a 737.  The airport terminal provides facilities for overnight accommodation and serves as a base for local aircraft.  The industrial park and the airport are strategically located within a reasonable driving distance (2 hours or less) to the Norfolk-Hampton Roads area as well as Raleigh/Durham.  It is a perfect location for attracting a fixed-based operator and for private aviation refueling between New England and Florida.  The industrial park has the potential as a favorably zoned location for attracting industry and activity around privately owned aircraft.

Property - Northeastern Regional Airport

The Northeastern Regional Airport is a public use airport in Chowan County.  It is owned by the Town of Edenton and located three nautical miles (6 km) southeast of downtown. The airport is categorized as a general aviation facility. The airport features 61.90 developable acres suitable for companies affiliated with the aerospace industry.  The airport and available properties are strategically located within a reasonable driving distance (2 hours or less) to the Norfolk-Hampton Roads area as well as Raleigh/Durham.  As a former Marine Corp. airbase, the Northeastern Regional Airport has the largest runway in Northeastern NC. The site features a 6,000 ft. by 100 ft. paved runway that can easily provide takeoff and landing runway to accommodate larger aircraft the size of a 737.  The airport terminal  provides facilities for overnight accommodation and serves as a base for local aircraft.  The airport is poised to receive approximately $30 million in state and federal funds over the next few years for upgrades.  This year $4.5 million was designated in the state budget for the airport for upgrades to the runway and taxi lighting systems, adding additional hangars and some renovations planned to take place in the terminal.  The Northeastern Regional Airport is located adjacent to the Edenton Chowan Airport Industrial Park and features 23.65 acres of land available for development.  This property may have direct access to the airport.
